- Mindy MWonderful bookstore. I see her cats when I walk by and love seeing them. This bookstore is clean. The owner of the building has several properties not all this nice, I was informed the bookstore was a tenant. The other properties the property owner has are trashy, like the one across from where I live.

- Gina YI spent probably an hour and a half in there before meeting with my lawyer and I could've spent another hour there. The woman who works there is very helpful and she gave me a great discount for buying about 20 books with cash. Highly recommend it, especially when it's the only used book store in the county.

- SA HWhat a delightful experience....sweet little shop with a multitude of books and kitsch to keep any book lover happy for hours. The resident cats Webster and Dickens welcome you with meows and affectionate attention which just enhances the experience. Fairly priced used books in good condition..well worth the visit...

We are a small independently owned bookstore in the heart of historical downtown Lancaster, Ohio. We specialize in used books and local authors.
We strive to spread the love of reading and that’s why our resale price is 50% of the publisher's price on paperbacks. These have a maximum of $6.00 and a minimum of $1.00. Hardbacks are resold at a price off $4.99 unless otherwise marked. With your credit you can bring your out of pocket costs down to no more than $3.00 per book or potentially much less!
Our Store Credit Exchange Policy:
Bring in your used books that are in good, readable condition and we will give you store credit at the rate of : 20% of the publisher's price for paperbacks. $1.00 for hardcovers. Your credit is held on file here at our store and does not expire. When purchasing our used books you can then use this credit towards 50% of the total purchase, sales are excluded.

We do not give credit for / accept :
- Harlequin or Silhouette romances over a year old.
- Outdated computer or how to manuals, magazines, travel guides.
- Text books, study guides.
- Books with obvious shelf life, damage in the form of : torn pages, torn covers, excessive writing, mold or musty , water damage or faded pages/covers.
Make sure to check out our gift shop featuring local handmade goods and literary themed items. Or pick up some of our specialty greeting cards while saying hello to Dickens and Webster. (The real bosses here.)
